Abstract
1380160 Photometric analysis MAXPLANCK-GES ZUR FOERDERUNG DER WISSENSCHAFTEN EV 26 April 1972 [27 April 1971] 19259/72 Heading G1A [Also in Division G2] A plurality of fluid samples are investigated photometrically in an apparatus which has a first support 4 supporting a plurality of transparent chambers 5 in mutually spaced arrangement about an axis, each chamber being shaped to permit flow of fluid therethrough, conduits connecting the chambers to respective sources of the fluid specimens to be examined; a second support structure 9, supporting a photo-detector 6 and a light source 1 focused on the photo-detector, the first and second support structures being relatively rotatable about said axis, reversible drive means, e.g. motor 7, for effecting such rotation, the chambers being arranged relative to the light source and detector so as to sequentially intercept the beam therebetween upon rotation. The chambers may be tubes mounted in grooves in rotor 4, pipes feeding and emptying the tubes being provided. The drive for the rotor may be as shown, or through gearing so that the axis of the motor shaft is displaced from the axis of the rotor. The motor drive may also drive an indicator to denote which sample is under investigation, and the motor may also be arranged to reverse direction of drive when the rotor has turned through about 350 degrees, to bring the apparatus back to the starting position.
