Abstract

1379506 Micro-organism sampling device BAXTER LABORATORIES Inc 23 May 1972 [25 May 1971] 24158/72 Heading C6F A test device useful for determining the presence of micro-organisms on a flat surface includes a shallow plastics receptacle 15, Fig.3, containing gelled culture medium, and a resiliently flexible side wall 18 permitting distension thereof when the top of the side wall is pressed against the flat surface so that the medium is brought into contact with the flat surface. The top portion may be formed as an out-turned rolled rim, as shown in Fig.3, or include upwardly extending and distendible tabs. Alternatively, the side wall itself may be provided with convolutions which yield under stress. The device may have a cover with depending lugs or a downwardly depressed skirt 20, Fig.5.
