Abstract

978,565. Dish-tray combinations. REXALL DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. Oct. 2, 1962 [Nov. 24, 1961], No. 37370/62. Heading A4A. [Also in Division E2] In a combined bowl and tray for serving foodstuffs e.g. shrimps and sauce in which they are to be dipped, an integral resilient connecting member 24 on the bowl is releasably snap-engaged in a resilient socket 21 in the tray. An external projection 23 on the connecting member is in surface contact with a radial depression in the socket and as shown in Fig. 5 compression at the points 25, 26 prevent rotation and rocking of the bowl. Feet 12 space the socket from a supporting surface. In modifications the bowl seats on the surface of the tray, or the connecting member projects upwardly from the tray to engage an internal depression in the bowl. A lid 13, providing an air-tight seal as disclosed in Specification 662,219, and a flange 20, by which the bowl is picked up, are provided, the bowl, tray and lid being made, preferably of linear polyethylene.
