Abstract

1324729 Carpet fasteners A RAYMOND 23 Nov 1971 [8 Dec 1970] 54313/71 Heading A4S [Also in Division E2] A carpet fastening comprises a plastics cap and a stud, the cap consisting of an upper shell 3 and a lower shell 4, the upper shell having a dependent ring 6 with an annular groove 10 which snap engages with an annular bead 15 on the inner surface of a ring 13 upstanding from the lower shell to retain the two shells together, the lower shell being annular with a ring 12 to provide a seating surface for the stud. The ring 13 is inserted into an aperture in a carpet 17 and the upper shell 3 is engaged with the ring clamping the margin of the carpet aperture between the two shells. The cap is then pressed on to the stud 2 screwed to a floor 22.
