Abstract

1379009 Acetylsalicylic acid esters SYNTHELABO 25 April 1973 [25 April 1972] 19707/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds having the general formula wherein n is an integer from 2 to 5 and A is cyano or n is an integer from 1 to 5 and A is -COOR, -COR, or -CONR 1 R 2 , where R is C 1-6 alkyl, and R 1 and R 2 are hydrogen, C 1-5 alkyl, or are joined to form a heterocyclic radical. They may be prepared by reacting acetic anhydride with a salicylic acid ester of the formula The compounds of the invention exhibit inhibitory properties on blood platelet agglutination and also analgesic and antipyretic action and may be administered orally in admixture with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
