Abstract

1378240 Blending apparatus SCOVILL MFGCO 17 Nov 1972 [10 Dec 19711 53295/72 Heading B1C A food and drink blending apparatus comprises a container 14 which has a base 34 of thermoplastics material with a central base 40 with a bore therein, a tubular bushing 42 of self lubricating material is secured in the bore and a shaft 44 is mounted in the bushing and carries an agitator 46 at one end and part of a drive coupling 24 at its other end, the shaft being made from a material which has a thermal conductivity of at least 0.20 cal/cm<SP>2</SP>/ cm/sec/‹C and has a metal coating on its surface which has a finish at least as fine as 8 micro-inches. The material of the shaft may be Naval Brass or Phosphor Bronze and the surface coating may be chromium or nickel.
