Abstract

1,187,956. Bearings. ULTRA ELECTRONICS Ltd. 1 Dec., 1967 [1 Dec., 1966], No. 53754/66. Heading F2A. A plain bearing comprises an inner plastics ring 1 with a convex bearing surface 2 slidable in an outer metal ring 3 with a concave bearing surface. The outer ring is split and has flanges 6 to prevent entry of large particles. Ring I s of nylon and ring 2 of phosphor bronze. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the outer ring is unitary and ring (1) moulded inside it. The bearing is used in electrical apparatus submerged in a liquid and is lubricated by the liquid.
