Abstract

1378167 Magnetic switches G PEARCE [trading as ACCESS] 22 Nov 1972 [2 Dec 1971] 56110/71 Heading H1N A magnetic switch for controlling a greenhouse sprinkler system receives water which accumulates in its hollow vessel 5 to lift a float having a permanent magnet 23 which cooperates with a reed contact device 15 in the sprinkler control circuit (Fig. 5, not shown). When the float is raised, to effect turning off of the sprinkler control circuit, water-evaporation from a wick 29, which can be adjusted to alter the evaporation rate, proceeds until the float falls to a level at which the contacts operate to restart the water sprinkler.
