Abstract

1378056 Shaft couplings, friction clutches; electromagnet damping LOHMANN & STOLTERFOHT AG 27 June 1972 [2 Aug 1971] 30004/72 Headings F2U F2C and F2S A resilient shaft coupling comprises a rigid outer ring 4 (e.g. forming part of a clutch 1, 4, as shown) united by an intermediate resilient layer 3 with a concentric rigid inner ring 2 to which is connected a coil former 6 encircled (e.g. with a gap 8) by an armature 7 connected to the outer ring 4, there being wound on the former 6 a coil connectable to an adjustable current supply to provide controllable vibration damping. To cool the electrical parts there may be fins 9 and a fan 5 attached to the armature 7.
