Abstract

1377025 Fixing thermoplastic powder images FUJI PHOTO FILM CO 3 March 1972 [11 March 1971] 10150/72 Heading G2H A thermoplastic powder image 10 on a support 9 is fixed by moving the support substantially vertically past a heating station wherein heated air rising from heating elements 1 is collected by a blower means 3, and is directed downwardly and on to the support at a position 15 below the heating elements. Any escaping heat is removed by a fan 6. A shutter 7 is movable to a position 8 during preheating or periods when the support is not in motion, to conserve heat and to protect the support. A shield 14 protects other parts of the apparatus from heat transmitted through the support. A reflector 2 is provided behind the heating elements. The image 10 may be formed by an electro-photographic process.
