1376659 Device for inverting cakes M & G (BAKERY ENGS) Ltd 17 July 1973 [18 July 1972] 33561/72 Heading A2A A device for automatically inverting cakes on an endless hot plate conveyor 10 comprises a carriage 23 movable in a direction parallel to the length of the conveyor over the region of it where the cakes are to be inverted, a blade unit carrying one or more blades 31 pivotally mounted on the carriage and actuated by its forward movement (in a direction opposite to that of the conveyor) to turn about a transverse axis relatively to it to swing its free edge down into contact with a hot plate, then continue to travel without substantial further angular movement to shovel up a cake, and, near the end of the return movement of the carriage to swing up to and beyond the vertical to invert the cake and deposit it on a hot plate, and a back stop 51 having means for moving it down to engage the cake on the side remote from the blade to prevent it from being pushed along the hot plate by the blade.
