Abstract
1376144 Extractor device for parachute AERAZUR CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES 23 Nov 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 54424/71 Heading B7G [Also in Divisions E2 and F2] An extractor device for a parachute comprises a base-plate B carrying a central collar 7 and a first socket 1 carrying an annular plate C, the plates B and C being connected by a flexible tubular sheath 9 enclosing a compression spring 8 deployed between the plates, and a second socket 3 engaging in the first socket and retained therein by a member 5 and enclosing a compression spring 4. The spring 4 is stiffer than the spring 8 so that if support plate 6 carried by the second socket 3 is depressed the spring 8 is compressed first until the first socket 1 enters the collar 7; further depression causes the spring 4 to be compressed and the second socket to be pressed into the first socket, bevelled edge 17 forcing locking balls 2 carried by the first socket into an annular groove 10 in the collar 7. The plate 6 is then held down by clamps on the parachute pack. When they are released spring 4 urges the second socket 3 out of socket 1, releasing the locking balls 2 and allowing spring 8 to move the plate C, thus deploying an extractor parachute canopy V disposed thereon.
