Abstract

1375934 Hand-tools handles STANLEY TOOLS Ltd 5 June 1973 [4 July 1972] 31266/72 Heading B4K A hand-tool comprises a handle 20 and a blade such, e.g., as blade 22 (or any of blades 23-25, Figs. 6-10, not shown), the handle being in one piece of moulded plastics material and having firstly a channel 21 extending partway along the handle from one end 31 thereof to receive the blade and secondly a part which is adapted to inter-lock positively with the blade and which is at least partly resilient so that it can be forced out of interlock with the blade to allow removal thereof, the said part of the handle comprising a spigot 26 and a resilient cantilever 27 from which the spigot extends, the blade having an aperture 28 therein through which the spigot extends and the cantilever being joined to the body of the handle near said one end 31. Each of the blades has a stem part 37 adapted to fit in the channel and a canted surface 29 on the cantilever presses on one surface of the blade and thereby urges the blade against two inwardly projecting handle parts 30 which partly define the channel 21. One of the blades (25) has a series of teeth which may be protected by a channel shape guard (38).
