Abstract

Electric oscillations, producing.-In an apparatus for producing high-frequency oscillations, of the kind comprising an electro-magnetic make- and-break switch shunted bv an oscillatory circuit inductor related to a secondary circuit, a tap connexion is provided to an intermediate point on the electro-magnet coil, so that when an alternating supply is used, only part of that coil is in circuit. The electro-magnet coil 17 is connected in series with the make-and-break contacts 6, 7 between the direct-current supply terminals 8, 10, and the tap connexion proceeds from the alternating-supply terminal 20 to an intermediate point of the coil 17. The fixed contact 6 is carried on an adjustable spring 14, and the movable contact is attached to an armature 16 mounted on a spring. The primary coil 4 and condenser 13 are shunted across the contacts 6, 7. The secondary circuit comprises the spark-gap 2, secondary coil 18, primary coil 4, and leads 5, 9, 19. Instead of utilizing the oscillations in the spark-gap 2, the secondary circuit may be connected to other devices such as vacuum tubes for therapeutic light treatment.
