Abstract

1375592 Prefabricated storage sections for warehouses CONSTRUCTIONS MILLS K 24 Jan 1972 [5 April 1971] 3270/72 Heading E1A A prefabricated storage section for a warehouse is shaped as a horizontal tube of polygonal cross-section having in its lower part internal ledges 5a, 5b defining a channel, and a number of sections are interconnected to form a multi-storey warehouse containing a series of parallel corridors each having in its base a channel acting as a trackway for mobile units carrying pallets which may rest on the ledges. In a modification, (see Figs. 1 and 2, not shown), the section is defined by flat top and bottom panels and the side walls are provided with external ribs and grooves for direct keying engagement with adjacent sections, whereas sections of the form shown are assembled in staggered arrangement by mating grooves 21 and ribs 24 at their corners, with external ledges 5c, 5d defining internal ledges and channels in adjacent corridors. The sections may be of concrete.
