Abstract

1375318 Vehicle crash barriers BRITISH STEEL CORP 13 March 1973 [13 March 1972] 11626/72 Heading E1G A vehicle crash barrier comprises a metal rail 1 resting on the upper ends of support posts 2, the rail being secured to each post by a strap 4 passing over the rail and fastened to the post. The rail may comprise lengths of square steel tube joined by fish plates 12 and having end anchorages 13 and tensioning means (not shown), each strap 4 being secured to a Z-section post 2 positively by shear bolts 5 and/or frictionally by tie bolts 9 on either side of the post. It is stated that the barrier may carry a pedestrian guard rail or an antidazzle screen.
