Abstract

1375312 Tyre testing apparatus SEMPERIT AG 17 Feb 1972 [22 Feb 1971] 7497/72 Heading B7C Pneumatic tyre testing apparatus comprises a rotatable drum against the inner and/or outer surfaces of which tyres can be pressed in rolling contact, the outer surface having the shape of a non-flat elliptical cylinder with the end boundary planes lying obliquely to the cylinder axis so that the drum ends are circular, the angle between the planes and a plane perpendicular to the cylinder axis being in the range of 2 to 25 degrees, and preferably 15 degrees. The drum is mounted on an axle or shaft 5 which is normal to the boundary planes and passes through a web or disc 5 parallel to the intermediate said planes. The outer and inner surfaces of the drum may form different angles with the axle 5 and the outer surface in axial section be concave, convex or of S-shape.
