Abstract

1374248 Photo-flash control circuit PONDER & BEST Inc 24 Aug 1971 [9 April 1971 11 June 1971] 20164/74 Divided out of 1374245 Heading G2A Light from a flash tube 3 is detected to produce pulses whose frequency is proportional to the instantaneous light intensity and the tube is deenergized when a predetermined number of pulses has been generated. As shown, when a camera synchronization contact 72 is closed, a pulse generated by ambient light incident on a photodetector 80 is passed by a logic control 67 to a counter 68 which causes control 67 to produce a flash triggering output F. Pulses generated by flash-light incident on photo-detector 80 are then counted at 68 and control 67 produces a flash terminating signal when a predetermined count has been reached. The count may be pre-set to a value dependant on the aperture setting of the camera lens. (For Figure see next page)
