Abstract
1374220 Speed governors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 9 Aug 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 37880/73 Heading G3B In a speed governor for an I.C. engine having flyweights 12 acting on a control element 15, an idling spring 28, a main spring 42 and a fuel delivery quantity adjusting member 56, the maximum fuel delivered is determined by a rotatable cam plate 84 which is rotated in accordance with the engine speed and a scanning member 77 adapted to contact the plate 84, the governor being characterized by mounting the scanning member 77 pivotally upon a control lever 81 which may be adjusted externally of the governor housing. A connecting lever (68), Fig.3 (not shown) fast on shaft 69 is moved in direction (B) by an operating lever (71) so that a slotted lever (54) connected via an energy storage device 55 to the fuel quantity adjusting member 56 moves the latter to its starting position in the direction C. A strap 75 simultaneously moves the scanning member 77 to engage a starting portion 93 of a cam plate 83. In this position the fuel adjusting member allows a greater quantity of fuel to be delivered to the engine than the full load quantity to facilitate starting of the engine. When the engine has started, the flyweights 12 act through a sleeve 15 which is displaced against the face of an idling spring 28 until it has moved through a distance a whereupon transmission members 53, (54), 55 act to move the fuel adjusting members back in the direction D. Also a first loading member (62), Fig.2 (not shown) connected to lever 53 acts to rotate the cam plate 83 clockwise Fig.8 but this is prevented by a shoulder 94 engaging the scanning member 77 until the member reaches position 82' which corresponds to the speed as selected by the operating lever (71). Thereafter the member 77 follows the profile 92 of the cam plate. In a second embodiment Fig.5 (not shown) the lever 81 is connected to a correcting device (102) which monitors supercharger pressure. In a third embodiment Fig.6 (not shown) the lever 81 is acted upon by an electromagnetically operating device serving as an emergency stop.
