Abstract
1374151 Variable delivery pump control CONSTANTIN RAUCH 10 Feb 1972 [12 Feb 1971] 6259/72 Heading G3P Servomotors 2, 2' controlling the delivery of pump 1 are connected at pin-and-slot 7 to a floating lever 8 which is pivoted at 9 to pilot spool 10 and connected by further pin-and-slot mechanisms 11, 21 to a manual or hydraulic input plunger 12 and to a rotary cam follower 20 respectively. The cam follower co-operates with a cam 18 at the end of a piston 13 biased at 14 into abutment with piston 22 responsive to pump output pressure as supplied by selector 4. Movement of plunger 12 or pistons 13, 22 causes lever 8 to pivot at 7 and displace spool 10 which admits output fluid to one servomotor or the other until recentred by the lever. For reversible pumps the piston 1 3 may have diametrically opposed cams 18 co-operable alternately with opposed points on the follower, and each cam may be profiled to maintain pump delivery times output pressure constant. A number of cams providing different control characteristics may be provided for each direction of pump delivery ground piston 13 and may be brought into operation by rotating the piston, e.g. via spring seat 17. Output pressure may also act on piston 13 via pressure limiting valve 24.
