Abstract
1401839 Fluid-pressure servosystems PARKER-HANNIFIN CORP 23 Oct 1972 [15 Nov 1971] 48805/72 Heading G3P [Also in Division F1] Variable displacement pump 1 supplies motor 5 via line 12 and a directional control valve 4 having metering slots 37 the pressure drop across which is applied via 42, 40 to a piston 45 controlling the pump swash-plate 19 such that the pressure drop is maintained constant, resulting in motor 5 moving at a constant speed linearly related to the displacement of spool 35. When the pressure drop exceeds the desired level, piston 45 is depressed against spring 46 and via pin 51 can set depression of piston 29 and reduction of pump output. When the pressure drop is below the desired level, piston 45 rises and moves orifices 49 into piston 29, allowing pressure to build up via 50 in chamber 47 to cause follow-up movement of piston 29 and increased pump output. Valve 3 has a spool 54 which is biased by a spring 56 independence on the swash-plate angle and which responds to pressure in 40 to vent the space below piston 45 and reduce pump output when the product of pump output and pressure reaches a selected maximum, thereby limiting the power input to the pump. Valve 7 allows remote controlled destroking of the pump, and valve 6 has a spool 62 which responds to the pressure drop across valve 4 and shifts to uncover by-pass ports 64 when spool 35 is moved to the neutral position.
