Abstract

1373860 Table and chairs 1P INDUSTRIA CHIMICA PER L'ARREDAMENTO SpA 17 July 1972 [31 July 1971] 33308/72 Heading A4H A furniture unit comprises a table and chairs, the table having a circular top 3 and a support column 1 having a reduced intermediate section, each chair 5 comprising a continuous wall defining a seat part 5C, a back part 5A and a supporting base part 5F, 5F2, the height of the back part 5A being less than that of the table top, the upper edge 5B of the back part being arcuate and having a radius not larger than that of the table top, and the side edges 5E1 and 5H of each chair being contained within two vertical planes (7A, 7B), Fig. 5, (not shown) which intersect at a line (7B) in front of the chair, whereby the chairs can be arranged around the column and beneath the table top with the seat parts 5C adjacent the column reduced section. The supporting base of the chair comprises doubly curved front and side walls 5F and 5F2, the latter having rearwardly inclined divergent flanges 5H. The unit may comprise glass fibre reinforced polyester resin. The table top may have a pivot for a rotatable tray, and the column may be hollow and include an intermediate container (1E), Fig. 3, (not shown).
