1373827 Breaking pieces MASSEY FERGUSON Inc 5 Jan 1972 [11 Jan 1971] 379/72 Heading F2X [Also in Divisions E1, A1] An earthworking, implement comprising a frame 10, an earthworking tool 40, a support member of a standard 16 pivotally connecting the tool to the frame at 20 so that the tool 40 can be moved from a working position to a released position and an overload release device comprises two arms 54, 56 attached pivotally at one end to tool shank 36 by bolt 62 and to the plough frame by bolt 75 respectively with their other ends pivoted together by bolt 72 situated a short distance from the plane through the arcs of bolts 62, 75, a shear bolt 76 preventing relative pivotal motion of the arms about bolt 72, thus holding the tool 40 in the earth, until tool 40 strikes an obstruction with sufficient force to cause a large enough compression in the arms 54, 56 to break the shear bolt 76 whereupon arms 54, 56 pivot about bolt 72 and standard 16 carrying shank 36 and tool 40, can pivot upwardly about bolt 20.
