Abstract

1373809 Maize harvesters JOSEF BAUTZ GmbH 10 Nov 1971 [24 Dec 1970] 52196/71 Heading A1F In a tractor-drawn harvester for maize or the like having endless chain tine-carrying conveyors 17, 18 in its crop dividers 14, 15, the plants having been bent over by a deflecting arm 29 and cut by a cutter 16, pass stem first through a narrow bent feed duct 22, 23 swept by the tines of the conveyor 17 onto a platform 19 which is bounded by a rear wall 20 of the harvester and which is upwardly inclined away from its discharge end. The plants may. be deposited on the platform 19 by a feed roll 25 which is mounted yieldably in the vertical direction and which carries suitably inclined carrier elements 32. The side wall 31 of. the feed duct 22, 23 is upwardly inclined to the platform 19. The transverse part 23 of the feed duct 22, 23 is upwardly inclined away from its inlet, and the conveyor 17 runs parallel with the bottom of the feed duct in this region. The side walls of the feed duct 22, 23 are arcuate in the region in which it changes direction; the cutter 16 is disposed in this region. The cut crop is conveyed by intake elements 6, 7, 8, 9 to a chopping machine 5 having a jib 2.
