Abstract
1373175 Dispensing bags A H KRISTIANSEN 10 Jan 1972 1114/72 Heading A4T [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for dispensing bags comprises a magazine for bags, and means for opening a bag and retaining it in an opened position. As shown, movement of frame 11, biased by spring 13, towards the magazine 1 moves arms which enter the opening of the bag, preferably at cut-outs in the bag, and rearward movement opens the bag, and moves grippers at 20 to retain the back wall of the bag adjacent the mouth of the magazine. The bag is then filled, and movement of 11 back towards the magazine releases the bag and allows platform 8 to tip to present the bag to the user, retained by wall 9. The bags in the magazine are supported on rods 19 which pass through holes in the bags, and the bags are spring-urged towards the mouth of the magazine. An electric switch is provided, Fig. 10 (not shown) for lighting an indicator lamp when the magazine is almost empty. To fill the magazine, a cord and crank are used to compress the spring in the magazine, and the spring is then retained compressed by a ratchet. The front wall of the device carrying all the mechanisms for dispensing is opened on hinges 3. The magazine is replenished, the front shut, and the spring released.
