Abstract

596,129. Sack-holders. CARTER, R. H. July 20, 1945, No. 18595. [Class 58] An appliance for supporting a sack in an upright open condition comprises an upright carrying a U-shaped frame having forwardly - extending side branches with upturned projections, the frame having at its rear upturned pro - jections which with the others engage the mouth of the sack to hold it open. As shown, the U-shaped frame 4, adjustable on the upright 1, comprises a rear bar 5 carrying on its rear side upturned projections 10 and side branches 9 with upturned pointed ends 9a. The base 2 may be provided with means to which the bottom of the sack may be attached and may also be attached by screws to the platform of a weighing machine. A detachable frame may be fixed to the rear of the base to prevent the appliance falling over when the sack is being filled.
