Abstract
1371698 Gas burners LE FOUR INDUSTRIEL BELGE 16 Feb 1972 [17 March 1971] 7130/72 Heading F4T [Also in Division B1] A device for controlling the mixture of two gases supplied through pipes 3, 10 comprises coaxial nozzles 1, 4 the nozzle 1 being located within a stationary sleeve 12 on which a ring 11 is rotatably mounted, slots 14, 15 being provided in the sleeve through each of which extends a driving member 16 which is secured to the nozzle 1 and engages freely the inner surface of ring 11 whereby rotation of ring 11 moves the nozzle 1 towards or away from nozzle 4 to vary the ratio of the two gases in the mixture. The driving members 16 engage in an annular slot on ring 11. The ring 11 has graduations thereon showing the ratio of the gases in terms of the position of the ring on sleeve 12. A second ring 19 extending partially beneath ring 11 is also graduated and defines with ring 11 a vernier scale. The nozzle 1 has a flange 22 at its outlet whereby a stationary gas film is established on the outer wall of nozzle 1. The nozzle 4 directs the gases to a mixing chamber 34 containing helical screws. A pressure regulator 31 controlling a valve 40 in gas supply pipe 10 maintains the pressure in chamber 9 equal to that at the outlet 33 of nozzle 4. In a modification the ring 11 is moved by a servomotor controlled by an analyser of the gas mixture present at the outlet 33, and driving a pinion meshing with grooves on the surface of ring 11. In a further modification the ring 11 is freely threaded on sleeve 12 and the driving members 16 engage the screw threads on the ring.
