Abstract

1371349 Bearings VANDERVELL PRODUCTS Ltd 21 Dec 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 60785/71 Heading F2A [Also in Division C3] A bearing material comprises a thermosetting resin, preferably an epoxy resin, containing at least 20% by weight of a uniformly distributed P.T.F.E. powder having a particle size not greater than 5 microns. The P.T.F.E. may be incorporated in the uncured or partly cured resin and the latter subsequently cured by heating. If desired prior to final curing the mixture may be applied by coating on to a reinforcing backing layer such as steel strip to form a composite material. Fillers such as lead powder and graphite powder may also be added.
