1371229 Suspension locking devices SOC NOUVELLE DES ATELIERS DE VENISSIEUX 29 Nov 1971 [4 Dec 1970] 55377/71 Heading B7D In a device for locking the suspension of a mobile crane having a spring 13 disposed between the frame 5 and axle 12 at each wheel, an angled lever 1 pivotally mounted on a shaft 3 on the frame 5 is movable by a ram 6 between a locking position (Fig. 4) and an unlocking position (Fig. 6), a roller 16 mounted on the lever 1 is arranged to co-operate with a track member 15 on the upper element 14 of the spring clamp on the axle 12, and a rod 22 pivotally connected to'the lever 1 by a threaded eye 20 is slidably engaged with an eye 23 carried by the bottom leaf of the spring 13 and has at-its lower extremity spring washers 26 secured by a nut 25. When the lever 1 is in the looking position, the distance between the roller 16 and spring washers 26 is equal to the distance between the track member 15 and the eye 23 so that the spring 13 is held in the position it occupies when the vehicle is normally loaded on a level surface, and the eye 20 is positioned substantially vertically above the roller 16. The roller may alternatively be mounted on the spring for co-operation with a cam member on the lever, and the rod may be mounted on the spring and slide in an eye on the lever.
