Abstract

1,168,401. Vehicle seats. MASSEYFERGUSON Inc. 19 Feb., 1968 [20 Feb., 1967], No. 7944/68. Heading A4J. In a tractor having two oppositely facing sets of controls, a seat 22 is guided, between two alternative mounting sites 42 and 34, by a swinging arm 76, on which it is pivoted, to a bracket 84, for rotation about the axis of a bolt 88. At either site 42 or 34, the seat is held against rotation by locating pins 92, 94 engaging holes (90) in its base plate 86. On releasing plunger 68 and latch 118, torsion springs (108 and 110, Figs 3 and 4, not shown) raise the seat clear of the site 42, so that it can be rotated about bolt 88. On being pressed down on to the site 34, the locating devices 92, 94, (90) are reengaged and it is retained by means of plunger 69 and latch 116, facing in the opposite direction.
