Abstract

1368223 Detonators AMP Inc 31 Jan 1973 4917/73 Heading F3A A detonator, protected from initiation by extraneous, high frequency, electrical energy, comprises a casing 11 for an explosive charge; an explodable bridgewire 14 extending between a metallic shell 12 and a metallic pin 13; and a filter 17 for shunting the high frequency electrical energy across the bridgewise without detonating the explosive charge, the filter consisting of a ceramic substrate 18, such as ferrite; a dielectric layer 19, e.g. of barium titanate; and conductive surfaces 20, 21. The pin 13, which has a nickel cover and is gold plated, passes through a plug 9 of insulating material.
