Abstract

1368177 Yarn supply; knitting-machines; looms J DUPLESSY 7 Dec 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 56448/72 Headings D1C and D1E A yarn supply system comprises two supports 1 spring-urged apart, each carrying arms 7a mounted by springs 7 for directing the yarn in a zig-zag path, and a variable speed motor 10 for advancing the thread, responsive to the relative position of the supports. The supports pivot on parallel axes 2, or a common axis and circular rheostats 13 control the motor. The arms carry eyelets 7b or rollers and move between stops 8. Sudden variations in yarn demand during a cycle of operation is taken up by pivoting,of the arms. If the yarn tension increases the supports are pulled closer together with a corresponding increase in the motor speed. The yarn package 9 is mounted on the shaft of the motor.
