Abstract

Wrenches.-A multiple spanner comprises a handle to one or both ends of which are pivoted a number of channel-shaped nut-engaging members adapted to fit one within the other and to co-operate individually with the adjacent end of the handle. As shown in Fig. 2, the channelshaped members d are pivoted on pins c connecting the central handle member a to the side members b. The ends of the member a are provided with inclined faces a<1> or a square slot to engage the nuts, and a small circular slot a<2> may be provided at the junction of the faces a<1>. The inoperative members d may be turned about their pivots to rest against the handle as shown. The members at one end of the handle are of sizes intermediate between those of the members at the other end. Fig. 4 shows a similar spanner having combined with it a plate e formed at one end as a tyre lever e<1> and at the other end as a cone spanner e<2>. The plate e is provided with slots e' in which engage headed pins f<2> carried by blocks f which are slidable in the channels between the handle members a, b and are connected by a plate f<1>.
