Abstract
1366262 Radio direction-finding; inductive vehicular control PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT Inc 30 Jan 1973 4523/73 Headings H4D and H4U A vehicle (Figs. 1 to 3, none shown) remotely controlled by a radio or inductive signals from a transmitter (Fig. 4, not shown) to home to the latter has a pair of wheels coupled to respective electric motors, a pair of aerials 22, 24 one on each side of the vehicle for producing sum and difference signals to afford a D.C. heading signal having an amplitude and polarity representing the direction of the transmitter, a circuit fed with the sum signal to produce a D.C. position signal having an amplitude corresponding to the distance of the vehicle from the transmitter, and a circuit responsive to both D.C. signals to control the speed of the motors. The embodiment is a golf-club transporter the front, third, wheel of which is mounted for free rotation about a vertical axis; dynamic braking is included; and the transmitter carrier frequency is in the range 100 to 400 kcp., and independent carrier oscillators are keyed sequentially to separate aerials, Fig. 7 (not shown). Different vehicles may utilize differing carrier frequencies.
