Abstract

1,266,293. Antiskid braking systems. SOC. ANON. D.B.A. 16 Oct., 1970 [20 Nov., 1969], No. 49291/70. Heading F2F. A vehicle antiskid braking system has a first pressure modulator 20 controlled by an antiskid control unit 22 and modulating the braking pressure of front wheel actuators 16, 17 in response to changes of angular velocity of the front wheels and a second modulator unit 28 modulating the pressure of rear wheel actuators 26, 27 under the control of a comparator 30 which compares signals from sensors responsive to the front and rear wheel velocities so that the rear braking is controlled in dependence on the difference between the front and rear wheel velocities. Speed sensors 46, 47 on the front wheels have their signals fed to a selecting device 50 so that the signal fed to the comparator may be representative of the speed of the wheel having the lower speed and similarly the rear wheel sensors 56, 57 are coupled to a selector 60 which selects the signal of the higher rear wheel speed.
