A corridor 2 has apertures 11 giving onto the compartments 1, the floor of the corridor being higher than that of the compartments which, in turn, is higher than that of the nesting boxes. Each doe wears a collar preventing her passing through the apertures 11. The apertures 4 between a nesting box and the associated compartment is sufficiently high to prevent a young rabbit from entering the compartment. The installation is positioned above a dung pit having a central drain channel. Each compartment has a food hopper 5 and a water distributor 6 connected to a main pipe 7. Trap-doors 8-10 provide access to the corridor, the compartments and the breeding boxes.
