Abstract

136,535. Durand, A. Dec. 12, 1918, [Convention date]. Locking nuts.-A disk-shaped washer a on a bolt &c. has thin walls deformed by a blow to engage the nut c and lock it in position. The underside of the washer is serrated to engage the work. In a modification, the locking-washer is made of uniform thickness throughout, and another washer with serrated faces arranged between it and the work. In another modification, a plain washer with a tongue is employed, the tongue being struck up to engage the nut.
