Abstract
136,533. Barthelemy, R. Dec. 13, 1918, [Convention date]. Vibration-dampers.-An oscillating system, such as electric measuring apparatus, is damped by being in magnetic relation with a second strongly damped oscillating system. As shown diagrammatically in Fig. 1, the magnet or electro-magnet a secured to the oscillating system b is damped by a magnetized vane d moving in a viscous liquid in the hermetically closed cylinder c. A pair of vertical uprights may be arranged symmetrically with respect to the centre of the vane to increase the damping effect.
