Abstract
1365046 De-stacking articles KOMBINAT UMFORMTECHNIK ERFURT VEB 11 June 1973 [12 June 1972] 27696/73 Heading B8C A de-stacking apparatus comprises a space adapted to receive a stack 14 of plates or bars, a carrier member 2 having a plurality of rows of permanent magnets 5 disposed one above the other mounted therein in a position to face a side of the stack and extending from the topmost to the lowermost plate or bar in the stack, means 3 for moving the carrier member in a horizontal direction into and out of the working space, limit switches 6 and spacers 7 on the carrier member 2 for arresting the carrier member a pre-determined distance from the side of the stack when moved into the space to detach the topmost plate or bar therefrom and suction means 9 for supporting the detached plate Or bar and transporting it from the apparatus. As shown, the stack is moved into the space on a pallet 10 below suction cups 1 and the carrier member is moved towards an adjacent side of the stack by a motor-driven nut and worm devices 8, 11, the motor being controlled by the limit switches 6. In a modification, the carrier member is adjustable obliquely to the direction of pallet feed and in a further arrangement, Fig. 5 (not shown) the magnets are displaceably mounted on the carrier member.
