Abstract

1292696 Conveyer systems MILLER PRINTING MACHINERY CO 18 June 1970 [20 June, 1969] 29612/70 Heading B7L [Also in Division B8] A sheet delivery device on a printing machine having a delivery portion 12 comprises a plurality of receiving platforms 22 movable successively along rails 32 into a position for receiving sheets from the machine. Each platform is provided with wheels 30 which engage the rails 32 and is moved into position by conveyer 72 comprising projections 86 arranged to engage lugs 64 on the platform. The platforms are further guided by a rail 90 which engages in a recess 60 provided in the underside of each platform. Once a platform reaches a position beneath the delivery portion 12 the conveyer 72 is halted and the platform is engaged and raised by bars 52, 70 on vertical conveyers 34, to a position to receive sheets from gripper chain conveyer mechanism 20. The platform is lowered as a slack accumulates therein. Sheets deposited on the stack are retarded by suction device 26 and engaged by a stop-member 24. A control member lowers the platform to the rails when a predetermined number of sheets has accumulated thereon. The next platform is then moved into the sheet-receiving position.
