Abstract

1364564 Packaging SCAN COIN AB 23 Sept 1971 44325/71 Heading B8C While jaws 25, 29 and 30 on swingers 26 are heat sealing at least one web 12 to form a bag which is then filled with coins from a counter or with a liquid, a lever 18 is moved downwardly to form the web upstream of the sealing station into a loop. When the swingers are moved apart, the weight of the bag pulls the lever upwardly while a brake 14 engages the web upstream of the loop. Crank pins on rotating discs alternatively press the swingers together against the bias of a spring 32, and the brakes 14 against the webs. Rotation of the discs is stopped while the swingers are pressed together to allow the welds to cool. Each lever 18 is part of a bell-crank lever which is pivoted by a further crank-pin optionally against the bias of a spring. An adjustable stop 46 controls the amount of movement of each lever 18 and hence the bag size. A heated wire 31 cuts a sealed bag from the next bag.
