Abstract

1364146 Non-refillable bottle fitment ASTRA PLASTIQUE and A BEREZIAT 12 Oct 1972 [14 Oct 1971] 47149/72 Heading B8D A non-refillable bottle plug comprises a plastics housing formed by parts 1 and 3, a magnetized disc 13 adapted to seat on a soft iron ring 12, first and second glass balls 18 and 20 respectively serving to urge the disc towards and away from its seating ring when the bottle is tilted from and to a pouring attitude, and a float member 14, forming with the disc, an assembly which obturates the entry of liquid by floating on the same if an illicit attempt is made to inject liquid into the bottle when inverted. The assembly is constrained to axial movement by fins 15 joining an annulus 16 around the soft iron ring to a baffle 17, which also limits the movement of the ball 18. Dependent fins 11 guide the ball 20 and are notched at 11a to restrain movement of the ball towards the disc until the bottle is tilted to a predetermined inclination. The disc may be formed of metal or of a plastics containing magnetic powder. The ball 20 may be replaced by a cylindrical weight, Fig. 8 (not shown). A modified baffle/fin construction is disclosed, Fig. 7 (not shown).
