1363801 Peptides MERCK & CO Inc 21 March 1972 [26 March 1971 29 March 1971 30 March 1971 26 Oct 1971] 13237/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises the peptides H-valhis - leu - ser - ala - glu - glu - lys - glu - ala - OH, H - val - his - leu - ser - ala - glu - glu - lys - gln - ala - OH, H - val - his - leu - thr - pro - glu - glulys - ser - ala - OH, and H - met - leu - thr - alaglu - glu - lys - ala - ala - OH, their amides, esters and N - acyl derivatives, and protected derivatives thereof, and the protected derivatives of H - glu - glu - lys - glu - ala - OH, H-val-lis-leu-ser-ala-OH, H-glu-glu-lys-gln-ala OH, H-glu-glu-lys-ser-alaOH, H-val-hisleu - thr - pro - OH, H - glu - glu - lys - ala - ala- OH, and H - met - leu - thr - ala - OH, and the preparation thereof. The peptides are obtained by sequential or block synthesis. The following compounds are obtained as intermediates in the preparation of the above compounds: H - glu - ala - OH, α - tBOC - # - Cbz - lysglu - ala - OH, H - # - Cbz - lys - glu - ala - OH, H - glu - # - Cbz - lys - glu - ala - OH, H - hisleu - ome diacetate, tBOC - val - his - leu - ome, tBOC - val - his - leu - NHNH 2 , t.BOC - valhis - leu - N 3 , t.BOC - ser - ala - ome, H - serala - ala - ome trifluoroacetate, H - gln - ala- OH, α - t.BOC - # - Cbz - lys - gln - ala - OH, H - # - Cbz - lys - gin - ala - OH and its trifluoroacetate, H - glu - # - Cbz - lys - gin - ala- OH, α - t.BOC - # - Cbz - lys - ser - ala - OH and its trifluoroacetate, α - t.BOC - # - Cbz - lysser - ala - ome, H - glu - # - Cbz - lys - ser - ala- OH, t.BOC - thr - pro - OH, H - thr - pro - OH trifluoroacetate, H - thr - pro - ome hydrochloride, H - ala - ala - OH, α - t.BOC - e- Cbz - lys - ala - ala - OH, H - # - Cbz - lys - alaala - OH, H - glu - # - Cbz - lys - ala - ala - OH, tBOC - thr - ala - ome, H - thr - ala - ome trifluoroacetate, t.BOC - leu - thr - ala - ome, and H-leu-thr-ala-ome trifluoroacetate. Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for oral or parenteral administration, contain the above decapeptides or nonapeptides, or derivatives thereof and suitable carriers the peptides effect the release and synthesis of growth hormones by cells of the anterior pituitary of mammals.
