Abstract

1363345 Hydraulic pump-turbine plant TITOVI ZAVODI LITOSTROJ 24 July 1972 34543/72 Headings F1C and FIT A hydraulic reversible pump-turbine power plant has a runner 41 which is started in the pumping mode by moving a flap valve 44 to the position 44a to block-off the tail water 1, closing slide valve 22 in penstock 21, and depending on the available heads in reservoirs 2 and 3 opening either slide valve 32 or 52 to admit water to the runner through pipe 43, the water exhausting from scroll 42 to tail water 1 via pipe 45 and slide valve 46. When runner 41 is up to speed the motor-generator takes over the drive, valves 46, 52 are closed and valve 22 opened so that the runner pumps water to reservoir 2 from either reservoir 3 or tail water 1 depending upon the position of flap 44.
