Abstract

1362854 Sealing inlets for textile treating apparatus ARTOS DR ING MEIER-WINDHORST KG 22 Sept 1971 [26 Sept 1970] 44083/71 Heading D1L A sealing device for sealing the inlet and/or outlet to a treating chamber in a combined textile tentering and treating apparatus comprises upper and lower length-adjustable flexible bands 14 and 15 folded in a zig-zag manner which extend across the width of the inlet and outlet supported via guide rails 16 and torsion springs 17 and have a slot 18 therebetween for passage of the travelling web 11 in the direction of arrow B, the bands being located in channels 19, 19A in upper and lower casings C1 and C2 which are provided with suction ducts 20A and 20B having lips 20C and 20D and openings 22 through which any treating fluid escaping from chamber 12 through bands 14 and 15, and air entering the chamber from 13 are evacuated (see dotted lines in Fag. 1). The bands may be made of rubber, plastics material or metal.
