Abstract
1362208 Valves E E TAVENER 18 Aug 1972 [23 Aug 1971] 39398/71 Heading F2V A double-beat pressure regulator has a pair of closure members 20, 21 co-operating with respective valve orifices 12, 13 each arranged in series with an associated correction orifice 14, 11, the arrangement being such that control diaphragm 2 is relieved of any loading due to flow past or pressure on the closure members. Closure member 20 may be of larger diameter than closure member 21 to compensate for the different spacing of the closure members from orifices 13, 14, and deflectors 23, 24 may be mounted on spindle 15, the latter being suspended by parallel arms 16, 17. One closure member may be slidable along the stem to allow the closure members to be arranged for simultaneous seating. -The diaphragm is subjected at 4 to atmospheric or other pressure loading. Spring loading may alternatively be used.
