Abstract

1362028 Knitting-machines G BILLI & C SpA 14 July 1971 [20 July 1970] 32927/71 Headings D1C and D1K A circular knitting-machine includes sinker cams at each feed mounted on slides 21, and a control ring 37 having profiled apertures so that the slides can be selectively moved radially to alter the stitch length. Each slide carries a screw with a disc-like head 35 projecting into a corresponding aperture. Alternate apertures have a profile surface 37B, 37C at different arcuate positions. By means of a pivoted control lever 41 the ring can be set so that alternate slides are reset by surface 37B, or all slides reset by movement to greater arcuate extent so that surfaces 37C are effective also. When knitting a ladder proof fabric alternate slides are advanced so that alternate courses comprise large stitches. These courses include held stitches in a 1:1 array the held stitches being displaced in successive held courses.
