Abstract
1361465 Mining installations GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 26 July 1971 [24 Dec 1970] 34966/71 Heading E1F [Also in Division F2] A drum 19, for driving mining apparatus such as a scraper chain conveyor 20, is normally driven by a main electric motor 5 through gearing comprising a fluid coupling device 21, main gearing 22 and secondary gearing 4, but it may be driven from an hydraulic motor 1 through auxiliary gearing 2 which can be coupled to a toothed gear 10 on a driven shaft 6 by axial movement of a gear 8 into mesh with the gear 10. The gear 8 is in constant mesh with a gear 16 and it is rotatably mounted on the end of a shaft 17 which is adapted to be moved axially by a manually displaceable member 3. Alternatively, the motor 1 may comprise a pneumatic motor. A shear pin drum 11 is connected to the gearing 22 and the parts of the drum 11 may be relatively moved by a lever inserted into a housing 7 to engage teeth of the gear 10. The auxiliary gearing 2 can be used to drive the drum 19 at low creeping speed in chain adjustment operations.
