Abstract

1360999 Treating haemorroids R E MILLS D R MILLS [trading as MILLS INDUSTRIES] 29 June 1971 [30 June 1970] 30298/71 Heading A5R A device for the treatment of haemorroids comprises an elongated rubber or plastics body 10 having a closed end and an opposite open end, and a closure cap 20 which is received over said open end and which seals into a passage 12 between said ends a liquid which substantially fills said passage, said liquid and said body being such that said body with the liquid frozen solid therein may be inserted into a rectal cavity, said body having an external abutment flange 18 which determines the distance of insertion of the device. Preferred dimensions are: the external diameter of the body is ¢ inch; the wall thickness t is 1/16 inch; and the flange which is of 1 inch diameter is 3 inches from the closed end. The liquid is preferably aqueous.
