1,266,867. Stoppers &c. PILKINGTON PERKIN-ELMER Ltd., and C. J. WHILEMS. 2 June, 1969 [13 June, 1968], No. 28240/68. Heading B8T. A laboratory specimen holding cell has a rectangular opening 5 for receipt of a rectangular plastics closure member 1 comprising a head portion 2, a hollow open stem 3 around whose circumference are one or more resiliently flexible tapering flanges 4, the dimensions of the closure being oversize with respect to the container opening 5 such that on applying the closure member 1 to the opening 5 the flanges 4 are resiliently deformed and effect a seal with the wall of the opening.
